Eureka! Store Associate
Eureka is the premier puzzle and game store in the Boston area. We have one
dedicated brick & mortar location and a number of web retail channels. We also sell
directly to schools and libraries, process wholesale orders, provide a service business,
operate game programs for kids ages 9 to 15, and participate yearly at major trade
shows as a pop-up store.
Here at Eureka, we promote a customer-friendly environment for all ages. Although we
focus on games and puzzles, we are a go-to for kids and family gifts. Our goal is to
share the excitement and joys of the puzzle and game world to everyone who walks
through our doors. We promote a community feel among our small staff and have an
employee barbeque at the end of the summer. We're looking for someone who can
seamlessly join our staff and uphold Eureka's goals in a store and community support
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Resolving customer service issues (Good ones and not so good, you’re empowered!)
- Arrange store displays, upkeep the store's appearance, and maintain cleanliness
- Open the store and working the retail floor 
- Participate in Eureka Programs, including, but not limited to: Vacation Programs, After
School Programs, Game Nights, PAX East and GenCon Pop-Up Stores
- Support additional sales channels, including, but not limited to: online sales, wholesale
orders, and purchase orders
- Work in conjunction with other departments, including shipping/receiving and event
- At least one year of retail experience, or 1 retail position
- Proven leadership and motivational abilities
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced customer service
- Superior customer and employee relations skills
- Ability to maintain order in a retail environment
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - especially via email
- College degree preferred
- Past experience with retail systems such as point of sale, Microsoft Office, Adobe
Creative Suite
- Experience with social media; Twitter, Facebook, blog maintenance and writing are all
- Merchandising and or design experience a +
- A passion for games and puzzles as a player, collector, and/or designer a +
Part Time – 24 - 36+ hours which includes some weekends
Yearly salary - bi-weekly payroll
