    Vintage replicas of the Isle of Lewis chessmen. The pieces are sculptures of human figures with the exception of the pawns, which are small geometric shapes. The king stands 4" tall.

    Isle of Lewis chessmen (known also as the Uig chessmen or Fir-Tàilisg in Scottish Gaelic) are distinctive 12th-century chess pieces originally carved out of walrus ivory. They were discovered near the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland in 1831.
